This article walks you through the process of adding a DirectCLOUD service to your Google Cloud environment via the DE-CIX portal. The steps cover everything from provisioning the service, specifying key details, to completing the technical setup.
Prerequisites
Important to know is that you have to create the Partner Interconnection circuit first in your Google Cloud Portal. You find instructions here.
Guide
Follow these steps to seamlessly add and configure a DirectCLOUD service in Google Cloud using the DE-CIX portal.
Choose your provider
In the DE-CIX portal, start with Add Service and choose Add DirectCLOUD Service. A new page appears that guides you through the provisioning process.
If want to create a redundant connection, you must go through this wizard two times. This increases the reliability of the connection.
On this page, click on the GCloud Icon to proceed and then push Next.
Provider Credentials
Provide the Pairing Key of the connection you want to provision. Click the how-to link for help retrieving this information.
Click Next to proceed.
Service Details
Specify the following service details:
Cloud On-Ramp Location: Here, you choose where to connect to the Google Cloud.
Your Metro Area: Specify in which metro we should handover the service to you.
Bandwidth: The bandwidth you want to use.
External reference and Purchase order are optional fields and can be any text.
Contract duration: You can choose the duration of the services and get different quotes.
Click on Next.
Check all your values and place your order by clicking on the Order button. You can optionally add an additional address for order confirmation.Now the order is processing. Once complete, you see an order confirmation and receive an email.
Provisioning
Click on Next to go to the technical part of the ordering process.Based on your configuration you can add the cloud VLAN to either an Access port or a Cloud ROUTER. For this example, we connect it to an access.
Click on Add connection details.
Create the GCLOUD VLAN Primary Path
You can choose to complete this step later if needed. For this purpose, click here.
Specify your Access. This is your access port where you want this service allocated.
Specify how we should hand over the service to you. You have the following options within the VLAN Configuration:
Port
dot1q
qinq
Depending on the chosen option specify the VLAN and VLAN ethertype.
Click Next to finish the service creation.
You successfully ordered and configured your DirectCLOUD connection for GoogleCloud.
