Updating the Cloud Key for Your Azure DirectCLOUD Service

If you need to update the Cloud Key for your Azure DirectCLOUD service, you can now do so without having to place a new order. This feature allows you to correct mistakes in the Azure portal while keeping your bandwidth and on-ramp settings unchanged.

How It Works

With this functionality, you can update your Cloud Key directly through the API. If the new key matches your current service’s bandwidth and on-ramp, the update will proceed smoothly. Otherwise, an error message will guide you through the necessary adjustments.

Requirements for a Successful Update

To ensure a successful Cloud Key update, please keep in mind:

✔ The new Cloud Key must match the existing bandwidth and on-ramp settings.

✔ The service must be in an active state (either “production” or “allocated”).

✔ The new Cloud Key must be different from the existing one.

If any of these conditions are not met, the system will provide clear error messages to help you resolve the issue.

How to Update Your Cloud Key

1. Check Your Current Cloud Key & Service Status

Before making changes, confirm that your service is in a valid state for updates.

2. Prepare the New Cloud Key

Ensure that the new Cloud Key aligns with the existing bandwidth and on-ramp settings.

3. Initiate the Update via API

The Cloud Key update can be performed using the API. Detailed instructions and request parameters can be found in our API documentation:

4. Handle Any Validation Errors

If an error occurs, review the message provided and make the necessary adjustments before retrying.

Why Use This Feature?

This functionality saves time and effort by eliminating the need for a completely new service order when correcting Cloud Key details. It streamlines the process, ensuring a more efficient and hassle-free experience.
