Delete a DirectCLOUD service for Azure

Joseph Thorwest Updated by Joseph Thorwest

This article provides step-by-step guides for deleting your DirectCLOUD service for Microsoft Azure via our portal.

This article does not cover the deletion of single configurations of the service. To do that, click here.

Guides

To delete a DirectCLOUD service for Azure, first delete the service on the DE-CIX side through our portal. Then unlink the virtual networks and delete the service on the Azure side.

Please note: You cannot delete the ExpressRoute circuit on the Azure side without first deleting the service in our portal and unlinking all connected virtual networks. Therefore, please follow the guide chronologically.

For the DE-CIX side

This section provides the guide for canceling and deprovisioning the DE-CIX side of your DirectCLOUD service via our portal.

Important: If you wish to cancel your service only without an immediate deprovisioning, DO NOT follow this guide. In this case contact your sales representative directly at: sales@de-cix.net.
  1. Log in to our portal and click on the Services tab.
  2. Locate the service you want to delete. Use the filtering option on the right to narrow your search.
  3. Click on the pencil button for editing.
  4. Click on Cancel & Deprovision.
  5. Carefully read the displayed information. Type "DELETE" in the provided field and click Proceed.
Please note: This step leads to the cancellation and deprovisioning of the service.

You successfully deleted your DirectCLOUD service on the DE-CIX side. Note that deprovisioning and cancellation of the service may take a few minutes to complete.

For the Azure side

This section provides the guide for unlinking and deleting the service on the Azure side.

  1. Log in to the Azure portal and go to your ExpressRoute circuit.
  2. Select Connections in the left-hand menu.
  3. Select the rows with connections, hold down Ctrl to choose multiple, and click Delete.
  4. Confirm by clicking Yes.
  5. Return to the Overview page of the ExpressRoute circuit.
  6. Make sure the provider status shows "Not provisioned", then click Delete.
If the status shows Not provisioned, yet an error indicates it cannot be deleted because it's still provisioned, refresh the page and attempt the deletion again.

You successfully deleted your DirectCLOUD service.
