Upgrade / downgrade a DirectCLOUD service for Oracle

DE-CIX PDM Team Updated by DE-CIX PDM Team

This article provides a step-by-step guide for upgrading the capacity of your DirectCLOUD service for Oracle Cloud. It shows you how to navigate both the OCI Console and the DE-CIX portal to complete the process.

Please note: For contractual reasons, we generally support capacity upgrades only. Downgrades are available exclusively in the context of specific contractual arrangements (e.g. Flex products). If you are unsure whether your contract allows a downgrade, please contact your sales representative at: sales@de-cix.net.

Prerequisites

Before changing the capacity of a DirectCLOUD service for Oracle Cloud on the DE-CIX side, you must first update the provisioned bandwidth on the Oracle side.

Follow the steps below to complete the change in OCI first, then proceed with the DE-CIX portal.

Please note: It can take a few minutes for your change on the Oracle side to become visible in our portal.

Part 1: Update bandwidth in OCI Console

  1. Sign in to your OCI Console and navigate to Networking → Customer Connectivity → FastConnect.
  2. Click on the Virtual Circuit associated with your DE-CIX DirectCLOUD connection to open its detail page.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Update the Provisioned Bandwidth to your desired new value.
  5. Click Update to save the change. Wait until the Virtual Circuit returns to PROVISIONED state before proceeding.

Part 2: Update capacity in the DE-CIX portal

  1. Visit our self-service portal.
  2. Select Take me there under Config & Upgrade your Service or find your Service under "Services".
  3. Go to your desired service and click on Edit.
A new window opens, displaying your chosen service.
  4. Click on upgrade/downgrade.
  5. Click on view summary.
Please note: If this window does not appear but instead an error message shows up, please wait a moment and refresh the page. It may take a few minutes for the change in the OCI Console to be recognized in our portal.
  6. Review your data and order details.
  7. Click on Order.
Now the order is processing. This can take a few seconds. Additionally, you receive an email with the order confirmation.
  8. Click on Done.

You successfully changed the capacity for your DirectCLOUD service for Oracle Cloud.
