Delete your Oracle connection

DE-CIX PDM Team Updated by DE-CIX PDM Team

This article provides a step-by-step guide for deleting your DirectCLOUD service for Oracle Cloud via our portal.

This article does not cover the deletion of single configurations of the service. To do that, click here.

Guide

Important: Proceeding with this guide will immediately deprovision the technical service. Your contractual term and billing remain unaffected — charges continue until the end of your agreed contract period (e.g. 12 months). If you wish to cancel your contract without immediate deprovisioning, do not follow this guide and contact your sales representative directly at: sales@de-cix.net.
  1. Log in to our portal and click on the Services tab.
  2. Locate the service you want to delete. Use the filtering option on the right to narrow your search.
  3. Click on the pencil button for editing.
  4. Click on Cancel & Deprovision.
  5. Carefully read the displayed information. Type "DELETE" in the provided field and click Proceed.
Please note: This step leads to the immediate cancellation and deprovisioning of the service on the DE-CIX side.
You have successfully deleted your DirectCLOUD service on the DE-CIX side. Deprovisioning may take a few minutes to complete.

Now you need to delete the FastConnect Virtual Circuit on the Oracle side. If you do not delete it, Oracle may continue to bill you for the circuit.
  6. Sign in to your OCI Console and navigate to Networking → Customer Connectivity → FastConnect.
  7. Locate the Virtual Circuit associated with the DE-CIX connection you just deleted.
  8. Click on the Virtual Circuit to open its detail page. Verify that the lifecycle state has changed to INACTIVE or PENDING PROVIDER — this confirms that DE-CIX has released the connection on their side.
  9. From the Actions menu (three dots), select Terminate.
  10. Confirm by clicking Terminate when the confirmation dialog appears.

You have successfully deleted your DirectCLOUD service for Oracle Cloud.
