In the DE-CIX portal start with "Add Service" and choose "Add DirectCLOUD Service"

A new page should appear which guides you through the provisioning process.

Important to know is that you have to create the ExpressRoute circuit first in your Azure Portal. How to do this can be found here.

On this page click on the AZURE Icon to proceed and then push "Next"

In the next step, you have to provide the "Service Key" of the ExpressRoute you want to provision. If you need any help in retrieving this information, click on the Info-button. Click "Next" to proceed.

Now you are coming to the point where you have to specify the service details.

"Cloud On-Ramp Location": when you ordered the service key, you already specified this parameter

"Metro Area of your Access": please specify in which metro we should handover the service to you

"Bandwidth": this will be automatically defined, depending on what you have specified in the Azure portal.

"External reference" and "Purchase order" are optional fields and can be any text.

"Contract duration": you can choose the duration of the services and get different quotes

Click "Next" to proceed.

On the next page, check all your values and place your order by clicking on the "Order" button. You can optionally add an "additional address for order confirmation".

Now the order will be processed. If everything is ready, you should see an order confirmation and should also receive an email.

Click on "Next" to choose where to allocate this cloud VLAN.

Depending on which is your configuration, you can add this cloud VLAN to an Access port or a CloudROUTER:

For this example, we will connect it to an access, click on add connection details.

On this page, you will configure the primary VLAN.

You can choose your "DE-CIX Access"; this is the port where we will hand over the service to you.

You can choose if you want to change the "VLAN-ID of the Azure Private Peering" or if you want to "preserve VLAN". We recommend preserving it; by doing this, we will send the inner VLAN ID configured in the Azure portal to Microsoft and it will be transparent to you.

If you preserved the VLAN, select qinq to add the outer VLAN ID.

Example of a configured VLAN:

You can specify the "VLAN ethertype" too.

After finishing this, press "Next" and configure the service for the Secondary VLAN.

After finishing with the Secondary, you have now successfully created the DirectCLOUD connection, and you should see the "Cloud order completed" screen.
